Thanks to generous donations from our friends, colleagues, and customers, we have raised awareness and significant funds to further our mission. These contributions have enabled us to provide critical funding to support the following charitable organizations worldwide:
LMOCF CHARITABLE GIVING IN THE U.S.
Project(s) that LMOCF is funding
Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is the world's oldest private institution devoted to prevention, patient care, research, and education in cancer. MSK's scientists and clinicians generate innovative approaches to better understand, diagnose, and treat cancer.
Grants from LMOCF enable Memorial Sloan-Kettering's physician-scientists to act quickly on promising ovarian cancer research, bringing new hope to women.
Cancer and Careers empowers and educates people with cancer to thrive in their workplace by providing expert advice, interactive tools and educational events.
LMOCF underwrote a series of educational how-to videos on topics that affect those living with cancer. The Fund also sponsored the organization's National Conference on Work & Cancer, which explored the challenges working people with cancer face—job search, health insurance, legal issues, working through treatment, and job re-entry.
Promotes awareness and education on early detection and risk factors of ovarian cancer.
LMOCF provided a grant to the Laura Lia Murray Fund for Ovarian Cancer, supporting programs such as:
- The Ovarian Cancer Tumor Registry Retrospective Study, which analyzes the hospital’s vast patient database to determine potential risk factors, better treatment algorithms, prognostic characteristics, preventative measures, and improved surveillance methods.
Seminars to educate the local community on early detection and risk factors for ovarian cancer.
LMOCF INTERNATIONAL CHARITABLE GIVING
Project(s) that LMOCF is funding
Ovarian Cancer Action is the UK's leading ovarian cancer charity dedicated to improving the survival rates of women with the disease, funding research, raising awareness and giving a voice to women affected by the disease.
LMOCF provided a grant to support the LARP1 in Epithelial Ovarian Cancer Project, aimed at accelerating the understanding of ovarian cancer – a complex disease and the levels of relapse remain high – with the added complication that patients become resistant to further chemotherapy.
Fonds pour les soins palliatifs is dedicated to providing palliative care to improve the quality of life for patients with terminal diseases, especially cancer. The organization's effective strategy is based on four pillars: raising awareness for the importance of quality palliative care, research, non-drug therapies, and digital services.
LMOCF provided a grant to support a music therapy program for palliative care patients. This innovative approach is designed to foster a sense of dignity among ill patients, most of whom are women, while easing pain through non-drug therapy. The program has been shown to improve patients' self-expression and facilitate communication between family and caregivers.
Ovarian Cancer Canada is the country's only national charity whose mission is dedicated solely to overcoming ovarian cancer by:
- Supporting women living with the disease and their families
- Raising awareness in the general public and with health care professionals
- Funding research in early detection, prevention, improved treatments and, ultimately, a cure
LMOCF is sponsoring Ovarian Cancer Canada's Annual Walk of Hope, the largest national walk dedicated to overcoming ovarian cancer. The event has raised more than $14 million for ovarian cancer research and awareness since 2002.
